From this Place…

All of the images on this website were taken by the brilliant photographer Angela Rivas as part of her From This Place project. In collaboration with writer Lindy Schneider, From This Place is a book that features the work of women artists of the hills and valleys of the Upper Yarra RIver. It was a pleasure and privilege to be part of, and I honour and acknowledge how these women helped me express and expand my creative life. Angela’s creation of ‘essence photography’ – photos that reveal the depth and interiority of the artist’s vision, the force and presence that seeds the artwork – was particularly powerful for me, and helped me share my sense of where my artwork comes from and what it seeks to give. Thank you, Angela and Lindy, for your support of art, of women, and of visioning, together, another world.
