The Co-becoming Plunge taster – the little splash!
I’ve spent the last few years adapting my PhD research in somatic and shamanistic metaphysics into embodied writing techniques for deep feeling, sensing and knowing of the alive world. I’ve honed the work over the last year and a half with the help of a fantastic cohort of students doing my Co-becoming: Animism, Embodiment and Belonging short courses. I’m excited to share it in the longer and more comprehensive courses I’m holding next year. I’m calling the course The Co-becoming Plunge.
If you’d like to learn more there’s a free introductory session (the little splash!) coming up that you’d be welcome to join. In this zoom you’ll get a taste of embodied writing techniques to contact a flow state that fosters a deep sense of connection and communication with the more-than-human world. I’ll also talk a little about my explorations of the ancient animist traditions of Europe and Australia and their relationship to contemporary ecological and pattern thinking. Working with Co-Becoming practices has been an immersive and deeply transformational experience for both myself personally and in my creative work as a writer, musician and artist. Being in a state of reciprocal conversation with the living world, weaving these practices into my daily life and creative processes, is opening a well of inspiration and new-yet-profoundly-and-innately-known experiences. This vivid living-with, and presencing-with life and the animate world are rich and fecund landscapes to inhabit.
