Walking the Mountains of Home – Donna Buang
It is time for our yearly pilgrimage up the mountains which hold us in our little Valley, this time to the summit of the glorious mamma Mt Donna, in contrast to the masculine Mt Little Joe (this walk is on March 27th). If you would like to to the whole walk the meeting point is 8.30am at the bottom of Martyrs Rd to collect a stone from the river before beginning the walking track at the top of Martyrs Rd. Please contact Maya to arrange to be part of this group.
For those with little kids or who want a shorter walk we will meet at the river end of Warburton playground on the Main Street next to Three Sugars at 10.15am. After our little river ritual we will carpool to the track where it crosses Donna Buang Rd, the halfway point – meeting time here is 11am. This is approximately 1km before the spring carpark.
We will have lunch at the summit before walking back to be home by mid-afternoon. Bring a warm jacket or jumper as it can be quite a bit colder on the top of the mountain.
